It’s time to Ride again.
A new installment in the Dynasty Warriors-inspired Kamen Rider-centric Musou action series “Kamen Rider Battride War” was announced a couple days ago. It’s a pleasant discovery, as we didn’t see a Battride War release in the last year during Kamen Rider Drive’s series run. What we got instead was an PS3 and Wii-U-based action game called “Kamen Rider: SummonRide”, which saw an attempt at mirroring the success of Amiibo-type collectible toys that affect your gameplay variety and options. I opted to not get it, because I am a (Rider)man… who likes Rider toys of the more pose-able and physically interactive kind. But that’s not important.
Battride War’s time away from the spotlight has definitely helped build some anticipation for a new game in the series. This new installment, titled “Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis” (仮面ライダー バトライド・ウォー 創生), introduces the new Kamen Rider, Ghost, whose series is set to debut this fall after Drive’s end. The announcement trailer teases at a storyline where Riders are being wiped out from the face of time. It falls upon Ghost and the crew of the Den-Liner from “Kamen Rider Den-O” to set things straight by restoring the affected timelines and keeping Rider history alive and kicking (HA!). Take a look at the trailer below!
Here are a few in-game screenshots, giving you a glimpse of what’s to come!
Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis will be released exclusively on Sony’s PS3, PS4 and PS Vita consoles in 2016. I’ll be following the official site‘s announcments closely, so stay tuned for more information as it comes!
